Act 155 Diploma Petition Process

Earlier this year the South Carolina General Assembly approved a law (Act 155) that removed the exit exam as a requirement for graduation beginning with the class of 2015. The elimination of the exit exam (BSAP, HSAP) requirement is retroactive to the graduating class of 1990. If you are a student who did not pass the BSAP/HSAP exam, from 1990 to 2014, and you wish to petition our school board to determine if you can receive your high school diploma, please apply using the links below.

                       Palmetto's Finest School

Shiny blue letters spelling “Palmetto’s Finest” were recently added to Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science.  Principal Gale Whitfield climbed the ladder to ensure the correct placement of letters on the building. “We placed the letters “high” as an indicator of the “high” expectations we have of everyone at FMSMS, said Principal Whitfield.
